HOUSTON, we have a problem!

Our computer has a virus and our phone lines are static-y and I can not receive incoming calls. Talk about disconnected! I'll be sure to update the blog on recent events once we are back up and running.

P.S. I am not mad at Jason for his choices last night on the Bachelor. I do hate though that Melissa had to get hurt in that fashion.

Mardi Gras 2009

We took Kate to the Big Easy this past weekend for Mardi Gras. I didn't find any problem in subjected my 4 month old to that. Just playing, we went to Mardi Gras in Fairhope Alabama, a little more family friendly. It was great! Don had to work so Kate and I crashed with my parents at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear. It was such a nice place. I am already thinking of when we can go back. Here are a few pics from our trip...

The HULK and Rice Cereal

Kate experienced rice cereal for the first time last night. I had to wake her up to do this before church thus she was a little mad and extremely hungry. It will probably go better next time. The first one is her first (mad) video and the second is her more content.

I never know which one to post so I just post both so you can see all sides of our little Kate. I also was cruising through some pictures on facebook when I found a very familiar face. See if you recognize this monster...

Ain't Never Coming Back!

I am currently sitting at my parents house surrounded by a sleeping baby and 3 sleeping dogs. I have been here going on 2 days now. Don revealed to me Monday afternoon that he had the FLU and had not felt good since Wednesday of the prior week. I went into FREAK OUT mode! All I could think was Kate can't get this, I hope she doesn't already have this, what all have I touched that he touched, and I can't get this because if I do how will I feed her without her getting it. As soon as I found out, I decided we were getting out of there. First though I had to take Baby Kate for her 4 month check-up. My sweet mom met me there. She could tell I was really shaken by the flu revelation and kept telling me to settle down and Kate was fine.

The doctor seemed to be impressed with Kate's growth. He said she weighed 13 lbs and 11 ounces and was 23 inches long. I don't really trust the length because her head was bobbing back and forth from being on the line. He originally said she was the 10-15 percentile based on birthday. I said well how about adjusted for her due date. He said then she would be 50 to 75 percentile. And then he proceeded to check her out and she proceeded to flirt her socks right off!!! Seriously, he pulls out his stethoscope and she gives him this big flirty grin over and over with a little bit of some coos. :) She got 4 shots. Thank you mom for being strong for me and holding Kate's hands.

We left there and rushed home to fill the car up with bouncey chairs, pack & plays, Petey's medicine and PETEY, a sack of clothes for Kate, and a sack of clothes for me, Kate, and Petey. I told mom I felt like I was leaving Don. We were rushing around filling the car before he got home. I didn't really want us to cross paths with him. Don't worry, I didn't leave him a letter saying "Ain't never coming back!" and I have called to check up on him. Thank goodness we made it to my parents in time for the Bachelor but too bad I had to miss Date Night Bunco!

Here we sit on day 2 of probably 4. Poor Don, he didn't get any sympathy from me. I was holding my breath not to yell at him for getting sick. I know, I am awful wife. Hindsight, GET YOUR FLU SHOTS PEOPLE!

4 Months Old, Already!

Today is Kate's 4 Month Birthday. We are going for her 4 month check-up tomorrow. I am guessing she will now be 75 percentile on weight and 50 percentile on height. Don thinks like 60 percentile on weight. We'll see!

Kate, you are so sweet these days. You love when mommy or daddy talks to you. You listen very intently and then you give this real gummy smile. Sometimes one side of your mouth goes up first and sometimes the other side never decides to join. You love to watch Petey run around in front of you playing fetch while you sit in your bouncey seat next to the television. You love your carseat and sleep in it for hours and hours at a time (which mommy appreciates when she runs errands). You have been holding your head up fairly well since 3 months old but truly have it mastered now. Today your mommy saw you ball up and start leaning to your left side. It won't be long before you are rolling all over the place. You LOVE your baths. Your mommy is thinking she will have to start incorporating some toys very soon. You are sleeping through the nights now. You just started this about a week ago. Everyone is getting 8 hours of sleep. Thank you.

Here is a picture of my baby girl and me when she was 9 days old...

My how the time is flying by! It won't be like this for long...

Scaredy Cat...

I mean dog. Call me a bad mom of a pup, but I love to aggrevate my 1.5 year old toy fox terrier. Probably because it is SO ridiculously easy. This dog worships the ground I walk on (ask Don) but all I have to do to get him to run and hide is to change the tone of my voice to real sweet/spooky. I have to threaten him on an hourly basis with the nail clipper to get him to settle down or stay away from Kate. This is how he escapes...

I love my quirky dog!

I picked up 2 must haves for Kate last week. She loves her play mat and mobile...

Last but not least, Kate insisted on helping daddy hold her bottle last night, with her foot propped up on his chest. That's my girl!
