yeeHAW

The Sugarland/Billy Currington concert was great! We had a good time just sitting and listening (not to mention crowd-watching, our favorite!). We also were able to snag some Alan Jackson tickets for $10 a pop. Yep, he is coming October 3rd and because they just announced it that day, we were able to get them for $10 and no service fees. Wooohoooo! Here is a pic with me wearing a hat I found in my brotha's room :)...

NR2

Kate has a new nickname..."NR2". I was given the name Nosy Rosy a few years back from my sweet & honest friend Alli (shout out to Alli) and now we have a new Nosy Rosy in town. So of course we have to shorten even that to NR not 1 but 2 (me being NR1). Ha!

This past weekend was crazy. It started with the throw down at my aunt's house Wednesday night. It was ridiculous hot so everyone ended up in her pool late night. Kate, mom and I left before then. The next day we went swimming with my cousins and her 2 boys, M&M (Marco and Marshall) at their community pool. Fun! Kate enjoys her pool float with attached canopy. Why is it that you lather your child up with sunscreen just to bend over backwards to block all sun from them? Whatever! I just don't want to be the first parent whose infant child gets 3rd degree burn from overexpose to sun. :) So after that we head home, take a breather, then head over to see a ex-colleague who has a 4 month old precious baby girl named Haley (shout out to Ashley). We caught up and let the girls stare at each other then Kate started fussing so we headed back to the parents. The next day lots of running around with mom then to the lake. Exhausting day but bought some brand new BRIGHT RED luggage. All pieces are spinners so I think we will enjoy that on our upcoming trip. Saturday my aunt Julie her daughter Toni, my cousin Rachel and daughter Alli and friend Alex came up. Dad worked so it was all girls! I think everyone enjoyed themselves in the bathwater feeling lake. Kate tried out her new body suit which was hilarious...big chest, little bitty bottoms. Sunday, church, then quality time with the dad on the lake. Some jetskiing time too! Headed back to mom & dad's house that night and Monday morning headed home to meet back up with the husband who enjoyed his Golf Academy at Pinehurst tremendously. He wants to go back and take us. Yay! His buddy Heath shot a 70 on the Pinehurst #2 golf course which is what the guy that won the US Open there last time shot. Yay Heath!

Okay, tonight I am headed to the Sugarland concert at Verizon Music Center. Billy Currington is going to be with them. I am pumped! Don and I are staying home this weekend. Might hang with some friends a night. Next week baby Cooper enters the world and our friends Kelly and Ryan find out if it is a boy or girl! Yay for exciting times!

Pictures to describe all activities just noted in another post. :)

She is also enjoying twirling around in her jumpy with occasional jumps and licks on the hand from Petey.

Another crazy weekend down. What is up with me planning big events on weekends when it floods? I thought rain was suppose to come in April, not May (6 years ago when I planned an outdoor wedding), and not June (this past weekend for my Garage Sale). Oh well, the sale still went on. We made $195 but $135 was off one person, our neighbor down the street. We thankfully moved 2 big pieces, the computer desk and the entertainment center. Yay! I think I will have to have another Garage Sale in August though because there is lots of good stuff and with the right amount of traffic, we shouldn't have much trouble underloading some stuff. We also sold the bike and are going to give away the weedeaters. Don asked me what I was going to do with the money. I said that we needed a fireplace screen because it won't be long before Kate crawls over there and eats some rock peebles and then I remembered we also need luggage for our Colorado trip. The zipper on our largest Samsonite suitcase somehow got broken (amazing we made it back from NZ with it but in the meantime we are not sure how it broke). So basically (insert sarcasm) lots of fun things to do with the money. :)

Mom came down to help with the garage sale. She is always lots of help and fun to be around. No doubt my mom and my daughter are my 2 best girl friends. I guess that is how it is suppose to be.

After mom left Don and I layed around a little bit and watched an old school Netflix DVD called Brian's Song. It was SO old school but sweet. Somehow we have ended up with quite the eclectic mix on our Netflix que. Don blames it on me and then I blame it on him. The movie really wasn't bad. It was a true story based on 2 Chicago Bear players friendship.

After relaxing, we headed over to some friends house for dinner and conversation. It was lots of fun. Kate decided to have an alltime blow out while she was in her carseat after dinner. It was SO embarrassing! Luckily I had a change of clothes for her and our friends provided us some clorex wipes for the carseat. It definitely doesn't even phase me anymore. Man how things have changed. :0

So Kate woke me up 3 times that night. I felt like she was a newborn again. I am guessing she is teething but it was really exhausting for her and me. We had to sleep in and miss Sunday School that morning but we made it for service in the monsoon.

After church Kate and I headed over to Brookwood Mall to wedding dress shop with my mom and grandmother. None of us had luck there but after we split up, Kate and me went to Saks at the Summitt and I found a green Laundry dress that will do. I am still leaving my options open though.

After pm service at church, Kate, Don and I headed home to wrap-up the weekend.

This week, Don is headed to Pinehurst, NC for golf camp with his golf buddy Heath. They leave Wednesday and come back on Monday. Kate, Petey, and I are headed up to my parents Wednesday. We have a 60th birthday party to go to for my identical twin aunts on Wednesday. Then Friday we are headed to Smith Lake. Fun times for all!

Crazy 8

My sweet baby girl turned 8 months old yesterday. Her latest and greatest are: having to touch everything in sight, sticking her gut out/pushing her legs out straight/and throwing her head back when she wants out of the high chair while rocking back and forth, locking her legs when she doesn't want to sit and play with her toys, lots of whining and carrying on lately (maybe due to teething or just getting her first cold), and sitting up in the bathtub without anything supporting her.

I love her dearly but she is making her mommy work for her "mommy" title lately. Kate has been easy to take care of thus far but with each month it seems to me a little harder to keep her content. Uh Oh, sounds like she is going to act like her momma. She is a very curious cat that likes to see and touch/stick in her mouth, as many things as possible. She loves the water and her bathtub and outside inflatable pool, especially sucking on the washrag for water. She was eating good there for a while where she would eat 1+ level 2 jars 3 times a day. Because she has had a cold the last few days, she hasn't been eating much. She still is a whooper, weighing in around 17.5 to 18lbs. She is a great sleeper at night...thank goodness! We are still working on the crawling thing. She really has a long way to go in that she doesn't like to be on her stomach very long at all. Sometimes it sounds like she is saying "mamamamamamamama" when she is borderline fussy. I don't think she really is saying mama to me but it sure sounds like it. We are trying to introduce her to a sippy cup or bottle so that she will be less dependant on me and I can start the process of weaning her. It also would be great to give her some apple juice in church to keep her content for a little while. Did I mention that church is work for me now? Yep, she starts fussing at the opening prayer and doesn't stop until church is over. If you ever visit the church I attend, look for me in the nursery. Also, no teeth yet but I do think her front, lower gum looks white. We are excited to see what the next 8 months hold for Kate.

I do have the yard sale coming up this Saturday. I will go downstairs tomorrow and take some pictures of the furniture I plan to sell. I will post on here between now and then and if anyone is interested, let me know. I have a few decent pieces, I think. I hope to make some moolah to use towards redecorating the house since I spend a ridiculous amount of time here these days. Being a SAHM isn't that bad...Actually, it's awesome!

Things that Make You Go Hummmmmm....

1. Why must my dog poop on the newly pressured washed/ready to be stained deck when he could walk 5 more steps and poop on the grass?

2. Why must my daughter pitch a fit every time she is lowered into anything/anywhere (not a nap!, Kate, it really is a good thing)?

3. Why must I get sick with a serious sinus infection for the 3rd time since I had Kate and can go 5 years without being sick?

4. Why must I pitch a fit to hang with my husband this Thursday, Friday weekend by making plans to stay with his sister while he plays golf with his high school buddies only to cancel because of my raging cold?

5. Why must I plan a yard sale that I will need to dig deep into my house to get every little detail of junk we don't need (oh the pressure of finding it all before next weekend)?

Just a few of some things that make me go Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. :)

Lake Weekend

Kate's first tent to block the rays.
