Light at the End of Tunnel - Goodbye February

I don't know about you guys but I am ready to see the Winter months fade. Last year they flew by because I read all of the Twilight series books and Kate slept. This year Kate is extremely active and she doesn't do so well if we stay in more than 2 days. So she is sleeping as I type this and then we are going to the library. We have only gone one time before and I am hoping she will begin to start taking a liking to it. I think her favorite books so far are Karen Katz books. We have 2, "Where's baby's bellybutton?" and "Shake it up, Baby!". :)

Still no walkie walkie for Kate. It is like she regressed. I am really trying not to get worried but it is hard. The thing is, she can walk. She has walked several times between Don and I and between an object and myself. We are only talking about 2 or 3 steps though. But she has done it without falling into the other object or person. But she doesn't stand on her own. Doctor checked her feet while she screamed at her 15 month check up and he didn't think there was problem. He said his son didn't walk until 17 months. So Kate has 1 month until full out freakout. No, just playing, some of our good friends' daughter didn't walk until somewhere in the 20 months timeframe. So we wait...patiently... :)

Yay, Kate is about to get a new baby girl friend at church, Caroline Taylor Williams, in July. She also another buddy (a baby Dyer) coming in September. We won't know the sex of that one until probably the birth (70% it is a girl based on the Dyers already having 2 girls).

What has been going on with us? Don has been working like a dog. Good news is that he will be done this Thursday. He has worked the last 2 Saturdays so this is a cause for celebration. He also received a letter from the big boss in Dallas thanking him for his efforts on a specific transaction. Wooohoo, recognition! Now if you could just back that up with some dollars. :) I have been filling my weeks with meeting with friends for lunch, shopping, and meeting my mom and exercising. We are planning a beach trip with my parents in May. Haven't booked the place yet but should be in Destin or Perdido Key.

Wade and Gretchen are coming home March 14th through March 21st. We are so excited! I think we are going to go up to Nashville for 1 night 2 days and see the Grand Ole Opry, stay at the Opryland hotel, along with other highlights.

No pics this post but next post I will post some pics of my parents' new place at the lake.

"Blanket" of Snow & Marshmellow Goodness

The title of this post refers to Kate's reenactment of MJ with her "Blanket"

Mamey and Pop came down to watch Kate so that Mama and Dada could go out for Valentine's Day

This little bear was on the front of a box of chocolates Don gave me, it then was given to Kate would then gave it to Petey - so you can say it passed through the family :)

Don and I had dinner at Stix at about 2:30 today then we went to the galleria. It was like a Mini-Christmas there! So crazy busy! We went because I have been telling Don we need to update his look. That what was in style in 1993 no longer cuts it. I am proud of my husband for maintaining his weight but come on! :) Anywho, we got nowhere as he tried on 3 pairs of jeans and all fit wrong. He followed me around like a little pup SO Kate and I will go back and shop Monday for him. I don't like feeling the pressure when someone is following me. But Don's Valentine's gift is a new driver that he has to pick out and mine will be a microdermabrasion facial! Yay! Happy Valentine's Day my peeps!

Whatchoo talkin' about Willis?

Find the face that doesn't belong. Ha!

Kate snuggled up her babies after visiting Mamey at work and then, after flashing her mama a few smiles hidden behind the babies, feel asleep.

My sweet dad celebrated his 50 something birthday last week. We met him, my mom, and grandmother at The Cheesecake Factory for lunch. Here is a pic of him with Kate and mom.

Mom and I were in were in Janie and Jack today and saw a cute little ruffled swim cap. So of course we threw it on Kate's head just to see what it would look like. My mom and I both started laughing so hard we were crying. Her face was real distorted and she looked angry. If I would have only known and had my iphone cam ready. Ahhhh!

3 Things...

1. Have you guys ever tried a Magic Eraser? It is used on soap scrum in the shower/bath. Can I just say, AH-MAZ-ING? Bam! Nothing like it!

2. Any expecting/new moms/moms with kids needs this kind of coffee table. I bought it a few years ago on sale at Thomasville Furniture. It has rounded edges, storage in 2 drawers AND the big plus, when your child throws her new real spoon, or any other toy on the coffee table and leaves knick marks, you simply get the furniture polish/stain out and cover over, then it just creates a new notch mark which adds character to the factory established worn marks!

3. Have you guys heard of runpee.com ? I just heard about on the today show. It is when you are preparing to go to the movies and need to know the optimal time to run to the restroom during the movie. Ha! What are people going to come up with next!?!

Walking in My Daddy's Shoes

Maybe this is why she isn't walking yet?

Go Big Girl!

75 percentile child! This is Macro Preemie versus Micro Preemie. I am so thankful for her growth. So everyone saying that she looked tall, well she is above average. Watch her walk her baby in stroller (okay, I know my mom will probably be the only one that watches this, but it is with our new HD camcorder).

Stayed Tuned...

because my girl is about to be a walker.

You could say she took her first steps last night but Don and I feel they were a bit wobbly so we are waiting still for quality steps. She is walking back and forth from Don and me but she is throwing herself into whomever is on the receiving end. She is getting more confident each day so we are on the verge of having a sho nuff tot-e-ler. Yay! (I think) :)

Yesterday I looked over at Kate who was busy under the dining room table. She had her little pink and purple purse nicely placed upon her shoulder like a big girl. I went to take a picture and she promptly worked the purse off her shoulder. It's only the beginning of mommy and baby girl being on opposing teams. I did snag a picture. Then I looked at her purse which had been velcroed shut. I opened up the purse and there was Petey's tennis ball. Petey is obsessed over this ball when he is not sleeping. Can we say mischievous? I couldn't love that little girl anymore!
